First launched in 2003 as a personal travel journal where friends and relations could keep in touch with us the site has evolved into one of Australia's leading caravaners web sites. As the site evolved our travel journal while still a major component has become but just one component. A caravanners forum under the banner of the Australian Caravan Motorhome and Campers Forum was launched in late 2005 and is today one of this countries leading RV forums with over 850 members and growing steadily by the week.

The site is owned and operated by Merv and Renee Harvey, full time caravanners. It is maintained totally while being mobile around this great land.

Most, if not all other sites related to the RV lifestyle are industry owned and operated. They have an agenda that is biased towards the commercial side of the RV lifestyle. At the launch of version 3.0.0 of the site on 22 June 2008 we will move away from the personal travel site and offer the site to all as the RV'ers voice. The club you have when you're not having a club.

The technical stuff

This site is developed and maintained using an Acer 1703 desknote computer while traveling around the Australian continent. The site is hosted on Windows 2003 Servers running Microsoft's Internet Information Server.

Web browser used for development is Microsoft IE version 7.0 and Mozilla Firefox version 2 and testing has not been undertaken on earlier versions of IE or any other browsers. Files are uploaded to the server via Bigpond USB Wireless Broadband Card on the the Telstra Next G network.

All photographs taken with an Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom digital camera. 4 mega pixel; 10x optical zoom with 4x digital multiplier.

Screen resolution used during development is 1280 x 1024 (LCD) however resolutions of 800 x 600 should load without horizontal scroll bars.

All travel sections contain photos and while kept to a maximum of 8 to 10 photos per page will take longer to download (depending on connection speed) than regular web pages. Please be patient.

Upgrade Forum to Version 9.8. Begin major rebuild (version 3.0.0) and testing of entire site and the deployment of full featured RV Classifieds @ RV Supertramp™.

Upgrade Forum to Version 8.5a. Updates filters to protect against SQL injections.

April 2008

RV Supertramp™ achieves 1 million hits for the month.

20 December 2006

Upgrade Forum to Version 8.5. Final version 8 release.

14 September 2006

Upgrade Forum to Version 8.4. Bug fixes found in Version 8 release.

June 2006

Upgrade Forum to Version 8.3. Bug fixes found in Version 8 release.

March 2006

Upgrade Forum to Version 8.2. Improved security, Events Calender. Bug fixes found in Version 8 release.

27 December 2005

Open site to the public. Testing is finished, the forum is up and running as are the Polls, Newsletters. The RV Supertramp travel journal has been successfully migrated to the new servers. And the site is launched at 10:00 AM.
