Our travel journal
Instead of just taking happy snaps and putting them into an album and finally into a cupboard never to be seen again, we
decided to put our travel journal on the web where family and friends could be virtual travelers. Coming with us on our trips and maybe convert some of them
that have never experienced the lifestyle to join us at some time. The pages within this section are our personal travel journal that we have made public.
We hope that you enjoy traveling with us and that if you are not yet a convert to the lifestyle that you are swayed to give it a try and that if you are already we hope that you find our diary
interesting and that it maybe takes you to places you are yet to visit. Ultimately it is our intention to be on the road most of the time. If you see us on your travels or in a van park, drop in
and say gidday. Happy hour is at the usual time.
After many years camping (tents and camper trailer) we acquired our first caravan in 2003. The following is a list (current to earliest) of our trips.
Any questions or comments you have can be directed to either Renee or Merv. You can sent an email from the Contact page.

Summer 2006-07 Northern Rivers NSW and South East Queensland With the project all but complete we are ready to spend the next five +
years touring and fishing Australia. We had planned to go south to Victoria however business issues continue to demand that we are not to far from the Goldie and will do so until mid March 2007. SEQ (South East Queensland)
and the Northern Rivers region of NSW have been our playground and backyard since we were kids. It is a diverse area of rivers, pristine beaches, rain forests, cities, towns and villages. A lifetime could be spent here and one would still not cover it all.
We begin the trip around the block in South East Qld., the Northern rivers and Central Mid North Coast of NSW ..........

New RV Supertramp (Mildura) Trip - June 2006 Although this trip will be a short one it is a very important trip for us.
We have finally cut all ties with the notion of a "having a place" a "home" or "fixed address". For the next (number unknown) years we intend to make the RV Supertramp our home. To do that we placed an order for a new larger van back in February and after a long 5 months wait
we are finally off to take delivery on the 20th June. Our new van, a Jayco Sterling 21.65-4 with suspension upgrade, was purchased from Halls Caravans in Mildura. Halls caravans is 2 states away.
This is our trip from the Gold Coast - Mildura - Tweed Heads to pick up the new RV Supertramp ..........

| Gone Fishing - Karumba and FNQ - 2005
With our recently acquired tinnie we had finally completed the rig and it was time to get back on the road and test it all out. See how we towed with all that extra gear, how easy
or not to load and unload. We set a plan to go north to Karumba. The navigator booked us in for 2 months (Aug and Sept) then we would head over to Tinaroo for a couple of weeks and slowly down the Queensland coast getting back home early November.
Find out why this trip was aborted after just 3 week at Karumba .......... |

| Australian Camp Oven Festival - Millmeran (Qld) 2004
This was a short two week trip just to make sure that the Supertramp didn't feel unwanted and so we didn't forget what it was doing in the backyard.
The trip was organised by our good friend Lawrence Pearce and all members of the Camping SEQ Forum were invited. The Australian Camp Oven Festival is held at the Millmeran Show grounds every two years over 3 days. We took several weeks and true to our slogan (and the song by the band) will "Take the Long Way Home" From our home base
we ascend the Toowoomba Range and tour through the Darling Downs to Millmeran arriving on the Thursday before the Camp Oven cook off weekend. The long way home is from Millmeran to Inverell, Texas and Stanthorpe. Then on to Tenterfield and down to the Coast where we were to go into Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay before heading home.
Read on and find out what happened .......
